Bajuin Waterfall

Bajuin Waterfall in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, offers natural beauty, 4 levels of waterfalls, and exciting activities in the Mount Meratus landscape.

Bajuin Waterfall is one of the natural tourist destinations located on the slopes of Mount Meratus, Sungai Bakar Village, Pelaihari District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan.

The beauty of this waterfall is a special attraction for tourists looking for a calm, fresh, and magical natural atmosphere.

After having stopped operating for more than two decades, in 2020 Bajuin Waterfall was officially reopened as Bajuin Park, a tourist area that offers a more complete experience with adequate facilities.

History of Bajuin Waterfall

Bajuin Waterfall was first widely known as a leading tourist destination in Tanah Laut Regency in the 1980s.

At that time, the natural charm of nature, cool mountain air, and clear water flow were the main attractions for local and out-of-town tourists.

Unfortunately, over time, the lack of maintenance of supporting facilities caused the number of visitors to decrease drastically. In 1995, Bajuin Waterfall was officially closed to public tourism.

Awareness of the great potential of Bajuin Waterfall prompted the Tanah Laut Regency Government to take restoration steps.

The redevelopment process began in 2019, focusing on improving facilities, increasing accessibility, and preserving the surrounding environment.

Finally, on July 1, 2020, the area was re-inaugurated under the name Bajuin Park, marking the revival of Bajuin Waterfall nature tourism.

In the first two weeks of opening, more than 2,000 visitors were recorded coming to enjoy the new beauty of this area.
